some 1970 Herbie Mann "Stone Flute" SD 520 Embryo Records...a little early sunday morning flute, guitar, vibes, bass, drums....
We have several of his records on vinyl...this is one of my favorites...it's good to hear the whole thing the way the artist intended.

Hi Judith! I've been listening to Stone Flute... It's really good. Thanks. Working my way through some of the artists of Bethlehem Records, known for their recordings of Jazz, R&B, Folk, and Crooners from the late 50s to the early 60s. I found a bunch of used CDs of Bethlehem recordings, what great remastering, they sound superb. One is a Herbie Mann album called Herbie Mann Plays (1954). His first record? Worlds away from his 1070s recordings!

Hi, Rick...you're back:) I had to get out the whole stack of Herbie Mann and I do have volumn one of 'Early Mann' on Bethlhem. I hadn't remembered it. What I ended up putting on though is herbie mann and the bill evans trio "Nirvana" I really like it...If you can, check out his Village Gate series...recorded in the early sixties. Thanks for finding 'In Tangier'.
So who else is on the Bethlehem CDs...sounds like a great find!
