Water day again. ....ooohhh but look at those trees (may the elk be blind and fail to smell during fall and winter).

North wall finished. 75% work done before slip straw can begin.

When does a building come into existence?  When first concieved in the designer's mind? When a builder decides to build it? When the ground is broken?

For me it is when a building stands solidly on its own without any braces to hold it up...

....so here is proof!

This building's name is:   First Light.

You can follow First Light here:

It does have its own beauty.....and the winter winds will definitely test its sturdiness...

.....having my place walled up and rodent proof would be really nice if I can get the slip straw done!

Hi Orin, it's coming along nicely! Have you found a local supplier for straw bales? I was looking around a couple weeks ago, wondering what options there are as I'm thinking straw could work well for the PAHS umbrella insulation, spreading them out into flakes to get 4-6" of thickness, but would still need dozens of bales.
