Is there biochar making/using tucked away somewhere? I don’t recall seeing it anywhere.

Nope, no mention of biochar in the PEP badges.  I believe Paul isn't a proponent of biochar so that's why it doesn't appear.  I think there's an offhand suggestion in a rocket mass heater BB to save the ash for the garden and the charcoal for other uses (like biochar) but that's about it.
