Permies.com has a strong focus on "perennial discussion" which means that we frown strongly on removing stuff.

BUT!

We do make an exception for stuff posted to the "permaculture singles" forum.  People post to say "I'm available" and later that changes.   And it becomes inappropriate to keep that post up.  We will gladly remove it.

Please post a removal request to the tinkering forum.  This has several advantages:

  - you get a LOT of moderator attention super fast

  - the fact that you are posting to the tinkering forum helps us to prove that it is really you making the request (not so much in email)

  - it makes the other staff aware of what is going on so that staff don't need to explain their actions to the other staff

Once the change is complete, we will (hopefully) remove the thread from the tinkering forum also.

Hi, I'm unable to edit my posts today. Is there a reason why?
Thanks

I don't know how easy this would be to do but if it was possible to allow editing of posts in the singles forum even after a long time - that'd be nice for a lot of reasons.  People change over time, who they are and what they are looking for changes too, and also people put personal info like email addresses in those posts.

I like that it's not allowed in other forums, but there doesn't seem to be any need to freeze the content of this one.

Not super-easy.  But Paul mentioned a workaround above.
