This artful, old quilt was my first. I made several rookie mistakes, like using harvested, threadbare pieces of pant-leg for the quilt, as well as not cutting perfect, straight squares. The result is, that after 10 years, it's worn out, and several places need patched. But since the back of the quilt is felt, it's a heavy, warm blanket, and happens to be my husband's favorite. He thinks I can't repurpose the quilt, but ought to fix all the small hole. (28 of them!)

I am beginning by cutting, ironing, and sewing an edge around patches. Then, I find an ugly spot in the quilt, and add a patch. I also just sewed up several seams that had unraveled. *Almost* good as new!

I'm not sure if a bottom sheet counts as a blanket or not. If it doesn't, I can move this to Oddball. I'm thinking that since it's size is that of a blanket, it counts?

My kids ripped a big hole in my bottom sheet. Instead of tossing it out, I decided to mend it! I realized a quarter of the way that I should document it! I took a bunch of progress pictures, so you can use the first picture as the "before," as it was before I started mending the rest of this giant hole. It took at least three, probably four, hours to mend this, as I used tiny stitches. And since it was such a large blanket, it really wasn't feasible to flip it around to sew more easily.

(Edit: I noticed the color looks really different in the last two pictures. That's because I was doing my mending inside, at night, in the dark, while my kids were sleeping. So the lighting is terrible. I took the finished pictures outside in the bright light of day. The sheets are a kind of olive green color, which never photographs well...)

Hi there! A quick question.
Does repairing a tear in a blanket (see picture) qualify to get certified for this BB as well, or shall I find myself a blanket with a true hole?
Thank you!

I think a tear counts. The sheet I mended had a giant tear in the middle, rather than a puncture hole. Many hole are tears, so I think it should be fine. I don't think it matters if the hole is surrounded on 4 sides or three.
