Hello permies community!  I am overwhelmed with all of this information, but excited to learn!  Where's a good place to start?

Hi James!

I would say check out SKIP ! As it covers many different aspects of permaculture and you could check out any aspects that tickles your fancy.

Welcome, James! SKIP is a GREAT place to start. When I came on board, I started at the top of the list of tabs, on the left, and worked my way through, just browsing, to see what piqued my interest. This place is an awesome, happy rabbit hole, for me!

Hi James,

Is there a specific issue, reason, question, etc that brings you to Permies?  I bet that if we can answer the basic question of why you came to Permies in the first place we can point you in the right direction.

But as others have already pointed out, SKIP/PEP is a great way to get going.

Hello James,
Welcome to Permies!
My suggestion is to have a browse round the forums at what interests you. Have a look at this thread. The main rule here is "be nice"; we all have different experiences and cultures and we try and respect that whilst progressing in a Permaculture way to a better world. Ask on the tinkering forum if you need help with how the site works. Please tell us more about yourself and what projects you have underway, or dreams you`d like to achieve.

Hey everyone!

To answer your question Eric, I'd like to figure out how to become more self-sufficient in my daily life and also learn some new skills.  I'll go check out SKIP and start there.

Ever since I found this suit I've felt strange new needs. And a tiny ad:
