Yes, there needs to be heaps of different sizes so that it can fit in with other people's string of social media icons. For example, look at all of these websites - it needs to be able to fit into their social media line-up. We have discussed that the ones with COMPLETELY different style probably has their own graphic designer who makes them look nifty like that but in general we just need a bunch of different sizes so that we can offer people choices to choose from.

http://www.groworganic.com/ (note the icons near the bottom of the page on the right: youtube, fb, g+ ....) We already have a thread for them - the icon could link to their thread.

http://www.patternliteracy.com/ (toby's site has one facebook link near the top) --- maybe we could have something similar just below it.

On it's way! Photoshop ate my higher resolution image, so I had to recreate it, all while keeping my little guy from having a melt down.

As for sizes I am going to create SVG (scalable vector graphic) versions of all of these so as long as they are square format it should get of a bunch of resizing issues out of the way for the end user. They can just set the graphic to be whichever size they want in their web code and it won't mess with quality. Working on Vectorizing Nicole's stuff today.

No. I decided to alter a "P" to see if I could make it look "super." This used to be easy in illustrator which I don't own any more and I haven't bothered to learn some of the open source vector programs. You should be able to type in a letter and then convert it to an outline. Then just move the points & handles around to manipulate it.

Here was my starting point:

It's still a little clunky but I knew it wasn't going to be used as is anyway. Obviously, there are numerous reason why it can't be used but from there it was an interesting exercise to simplify it & scale it down & see if it could still be super.

ok cool... yeah I will continue with updating all of this tonight when I am off of work. From what I see there are just a handful of different versions needed. I will try and be thoughtful about all the different placements for this and hope to post them all tonight (probably pretty late for me EST)

Yes I think the vectorizing thing is ideal. I just had no idea how to do that so thank you ryan. And thank you everyone who has been helping. Seriously. You all are so awesome.

a smattering of sizes and the placement on the home page. This are all illustrator files now. Not sure what to do for text on the longer ones model after the Facebook like button. Getting tired but wanted to get these posted for input

I think it would look a little better with some plant shapes in there somewhere. Perhaps a sunflower as the center of the P.

I think the san serif "p" has less "super" connotations.

Fit "ermies" in the blank space of the long versions, you'll have to reduce the size on the super P, but just set it higher in the graphic and it will appear uppercase.

Shoot me the final vectors and I'll add dwg, dxf versions for easy label/ sticker versions and drafting applications.

I can make those drafting file types but in my years in Graphic Design/Print Industry I haven't ever heard of people using drafting files over the native illustrator files.

I am almost done with the different options and adding the "richsoil.com" version to the options. Didn't have as much time this weekend as I hoped. Should be up tonight though.

Well I wouldn't use them for most graphics type applications either, but I would prefer them for drafting or solid modeling type applications.

Edited to add:
Honestly, Illustrator can save the filetypes out but they often need cleanup or sizing when they come into Autocad or 3dsMax etc.

I really wondered about that as well, branding is so key that a pastel red and blue just wouldn't make a Pepsi logo. But (I know, evil word), we're not a monoculture, our colors should be more free, we should meld into a landscape or stand out more strongly when needed.
