Umm, internally inside what exactly? That stuff is very nasty if not handled responsibly.

It gets used to purify the water going into the tea/coffee bag paper at the factory where my Dad is an industrial chemist.

I'm not saying that it's not effective but I am saying that Dad won't keep it, bearing in my he keep hydrochloric acid in the garage.

It has pretty widespread uses, washing fruit and vegetables, disinfecting water and surfaces, purifying drinking water, etc.  From everything I have read, it's pretty innocuous, but I'm wondering if anyone has personal experience ingesting it.

Yup, I've been drinking it in dilute solution for years. It is something that I use only when I don't feel well, and as such I don't take it regularly. I've never felt a need to take it regularly to use it as a preventative. My body is generally in a good state of health, and I make conscious choices to keep my body healthy, and so I've only taken it a few times in the last 4 or 5 years. In my experience, it works, shortening the time spent experiencing symptoms and aiding my body in recovering from illness.

Edit: I made an error and it needs correction. Yesterday when I wrote this post, I confused chlorine dioxide with sodium chlorite. My mind made the association as both compounds contain chlorine and oxygen, but are different, and I realized this mistake upon waking this morning. I have been drinking dilute solutions of sodium chlorite, not chlorine dioxide.

Sodium chlorite is mixed with an acid to create chlorine dioxide.  I wish I had a better knowledge of chemistry to understand the dynamics of that.

I have not, but this case-study gives an idea of what it can do to the body.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8522852/

The dosage is noted to be high, so you could argue smaller doses but the risk seems significant non the less.

Hi Trace, I realize this post has been percolating for a while but I just came upon it so I’m wondering if you’ve gotten further information outside of this post. My first comment is that I am neither encouraging or discouraging the use of chlorine dioxide for others, I am just sharing what I know and the experience that we have had with it.

We try to control as best we can the toxins that enter our body, hence one of the reasons we became homesteaders, to grow or hunt as much as we can and seek more simple solutions to medical needs. There has been much work done with the internal use of chlorine dioxide and claims of effectiveness include antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and more. We have used it as an antiviral and we feel that it was beneficial. We had no negative symptoms or side effects from its use and Mary is one that seems to frequently get the rare side effects when taking drugs in the past.

The internal use of chlorine dioxide was first discovered by Jim Humble who took a group to the jungles of Venezuela for a gold mining expedition. He had sodium chlorite and either Hydrochloric Acid (low concentration) or some other acid (citric acid will work) to make chlorine dioxide for water purification. Chlorine dioxide evaporates a low temperatures, which is why you need to make it at time of use. His group all came down with malaria and he decided that the oxygen-rich nature of the compound my be beneficial so he began treating everyone with it. As told by Jim Humble, the entire group recovered in 3 days and they were back to work.

There are 2 resources that we have found for information on the making and use of chlorine dioxide. One is Andreas Kalcker, a German researcher who’s website is https://andreaskalcker.com/en/. The other is an anonymous person who has an information packed website https://theuniversalantidote.com/. There is also this online store called KV Labs that sells the components to make ClO2 - https://kvlab.com/.

Trace, I hope this helps you to get more information on this topic.
