The sign on the bottom is a homemade sign, using a soldering gun. It marks the location of my backyard/homestead garden! It reads: 'My Little Garden'

I currently rent, so my garden is a work in progress and not nearly as big as I would like it to be. But you work with what you got! I am in my 4th year of gardening here in upstate NY. I have a husband and 4 kids, ages 12, 10, 9, & 1. All my kids participate in gardening (even my little one!...well, as much as he can) and I teach them as much as I can about permaculture and organic gardening. My husband built the raised beds, and between the two of us, we plan/map out what we are planting and where all the veggies go every year. We all participate as a family to plant seeds and any transplants I've started. Every one of my plants come from seed. We only use organic fertilizers we make ourselves from things like grass clippings and banana peels. We also use a homemade rooting hormone we make from fresh green willow tree shoots and water. My garden is one of the things I am most proud of in my life (besides my children and my family of course!). My dream is to someday have a homestead with animals & lots and lots of gardens & trees.

Your garden looks great. It shows that even if someone rents, it still very possible to garden. And produce some food and give the kiddos some dirt time, plant time and bug time. I love all the little bugs that pop up whenever a log or lid is moved.

My lovage and cilantro has all started flowering. Which plant do you have in your garden that is in the carrot/celery family, I can see its leaves?

What a wonderful little garden.

You have such a lovely large backyard with room to make the garden bigger next year to grow more with the plants that you can grow from seeds that you saved.

That is a lovely garden sign too.

And children to teach gardening to and to help you harvest the goodies.

Love your little garden Megan. It's amazing how much you can grow in a small space.
I hope you are able to fulfill your dream someday. It's great you are doing what you can now.  Have fun
