Many thanks for posting Devin, I couldn't pass up these videos and the opportunity to contribute more trees, and to learn a bit more of how we all can support in practical ways in our own communities as well. I wish we had such a mission here in Australia.
The whole centre of our country is desert, so much could be done. We've ignored Aboriginal wisdom on how to treat the land, and keep bringing in more immigrants skilled in computer technology but not food production to healthily feed them, just expansion of monocultures that benefit no-one but big agriculture corporations, supermarket bigwigs and the stock markets!
Thanks to supermarket treatment of farmers we have had our biodiversity and our health compromised, as to earn a living farmers are forced to only grow what suits our food distribution chain.
Please, if you can't grow yourself within your community, then buy from small producers, save what seed you can from their products and give them back or share within your area. Don't just hit like, or share, take some responsibility for yourself for your families and be a doer. This is a great program that could be duplicated almost anywhere, not just Africa and you have a whole heap of innovative permies on here, many who are not just looking out for themselves, but whole communities - just love this site, what a great post. WARNING permaculture is highly addictive, it may cause life altering changes such as valuing people, community and resources, and promote respect, learning, support and kindness .
