I’m a gardener doing a local presentation on container gardening and raised beds. Am including a segment on Hügelkultur, and wonder I may use 4 images from the website, specifically the four cross sections of a mound and how it changes over time.

A link to the thread where these images are located would be helpful.

That would give us an idea of who owns the photos.

I can't speak as to what the owner of the forum would suggest as I am just a volunteer trying to help.

I've asked a similar thing before and was given a Yes.  I think as long as you aren't distributing it for sale and you credit permies, you should be fine to use it in a presentation.

Ha, those are the exact photos I borrowed :)  Especially since they're richsoil/permies pics I think you're good to go.  Just don't sell them without actual permission...

That looks like Paul Wheaton's article.
I think Paul requires a link back to where the photos came from.

Here we go - I found the horse's mouth (aka, the guy that owns the rights to the picture.)

Where it was asked before: https://permies.com/t/19496/Paul-hugelkultur-pic-hugel-picture

More general information on using Paul's stuff to promote permaculture: https://permies.com/t/9878/stuff

No more than one pic can be used on the other site.

Looks like you would need Paul's permission to use more than one.  Or just stick with the best one and link to the others.
