Or perhaps flat bread, maybe pan bread.  Back when I decided to learn to make my own bread, it was way too hot.  One day while viewing some You Tube subjects, there was my answer- flat bread, cooked on the stove top.

Welllllllllll, my first try sorta kinda made me think of the old Steve Mcqueen, 50's movie "The Blob".  Too wet, I think, the second time was a little better, this is my third try, using fresh yeast, which I think will make a big difference!

If I never post again, you know the "blob" won!

I'll post an update later, I hope!

Peace

Success!!  My friends I'm so happy to report that at last I have made pan bread worthy of the name.

Using fresher flour, along with a new jar of yeast and a little less water than called for, made all the difference in the world.  After waiting the hour before turning out the "blob" on the board, very little stuck to the bowl, maybe a couple or teaspoons worth.  I slightly wet my hands and folded the "blob" over several times.  I then cut the six pieces as called for (I need a little more practice judging equal amounts).  Warming the frying pan on medium heat and rolling out the first piece.

Nothing stuck to the board, rolling pin, counter top or my hands this time.  I added a little fresh diced parsley and basil, it was wonderful, buttered and a little honey!

I may yet become a true bread baker one of these days!

Peace

I forgot to mention last night, that I used bottled water in place of the county water we have here.  I don't know if that really helped or not, but my next project will be building a lower cost counter top water filter.

This post is also a test post, to see if my "new" signature shows up at the bottom!  I sure hope so.  What a week I'm having, I made bread and finally was able to do some puter stuff right!!!

Peace

Anna, Burra thanks for those links, I did indeed enjoy them.

Dan, I'll give you one guess as to what I had for my breakfast this morning. with softened butter and honey!

Peace
