Got this in a delivered grocery order.  I did not order it; the store said "keep it".
I have never even heard of this before.
It smells of beets, garden soil, and horseradish.

It's served with fried meats: schnitzel, steaks. Also with cold cuts.

I love some horseradish on a savory hot sandwich.

I have never tried it with beets... sounds delish!

I would dump the entire bottle into a pot of Borscht.

Mix it into a mayonnaise/salad dressing and have a lovely pink tarter sauce.

seems like a great excuse to make blini!!! (i don't need much of an excuse to make blini... everyone loves a dinner you can eat with your hands, with a bunch of cute toppings).
Sandwich spread sounds good- maybe on roast beef?
I would also try it the way I like to eat prepared horseradish- on bread or crackers with butter. Sounds like a good component of a plowman's lunch type situation with some nice cheese as well....

I had the opportunity to go to St. Petersburg, Russia in 2014; I'd never had borscht before and I loved it.
It looked totally different from the jars I used to see in the local grocery store when I stayed with my grandmother in Queens, NY.
I haven't had it since, but I can learn to make it!
Staff note (Susan Mené) :

Wow, thanks!

Oh, yum!
I think the redness of the beets surprised into forgetting it was just "dressed up"  horseradish.

Thanks all!  I love horseradish, so I think I will have loads of fun using using your suggestions.  I have never made blini before, so that's high on the list!
