Our forum software comes from the staff at CodeRanch. Five years ago they moved their forums to this software, "JForum". And every year on January 3, they roll out a bunch of new features. And we get them too!
Here is what is new:
1) The Cider Press. This is a collection of forums (which will show up later today) that allows a lot of topics that we previously have not allowed. The trick is that some people have shown that they truly understand "be nice" and are very helpful. Last year's Jumpin JForum day gave us the ability to give out apples for good posts or good deeds. So the people who have enough apples will be able to post to the Cider Press forums.
2) Flags. Those of you with apples will have the ability to flag threads where you would like to see more discussion. You have as many flags as you have apples. And you can move your flags to whichever threads you want.
3) Progress is being made on the new look and feel!

Have I not enough apples ?

We're having a few, er 'technical problems'. We're working on them. The Cider Press should be up soon in all its glory. You need apples to post, but not to view. If we get it working right...

Thank you for the explanation. Without it, I would have thought that flags meant what they do on some other platforms -- that someone was offended by something and calling for a moderator.
Still able to dream.
