My books, movies, videos, podcasts, events ... the big collection of paul wheaton stuff!

wayne fajkus wrote:Trace, I like to simplify things. Someone probably gave you 10 apples over time and took one away. You can think someone gave you a core or you can think "yay! Someone gave me 9 apples".
The number of apples you have tells me your an asset here. Take pride in that. The core is probably a friendly reminder to keep in mind the reason of the purpose for these forums. I became a better member when i was able to shake off things that i previously took personal and focus on why i was here- learn and teach good things. It took my dad on his death bed for me to come to the conclusion that i don't want to look for things to be angry about anymore.

That's exceptional!
There's no hard and fast rule why people give out apples or cores. It could be as simple as someone disagreeing with the content. Or maybe they didn't like that someone put toxic lipstick on a child. Or maybe they didn't like a mysterious link without any text. I don't know. It's entirely up to the individual.
But it's an interesting thread. Like most of the world - and quite possibly most of the readers here on permies, I had no idea about this person or what a Green Deal thingy was. I learned a lot from the thread already. This woman has some neat words - but now I want to see what this Green Deal looks like in action. Maybe this thread can transform into something that people will stumble upon while searching the internet and it will infect more brains with permaculture.
