An observation this year that I haven't recalled seeing before.
There are two Norway maples near my property that are experiencing sudden leaf drop independent of other maple/maple like trees. The leaves have suddenly shriveled up, turned brown, and have been dropping onto my lawn. The nearby Boxelder trees, Ginko, Redwood, and other trees appear unaffected. While we have had some high humidity and warm temperatures, there has been semi-frequent rain and some days of relief.
Have you seen any early leaf drop yourself this year? Got any thoughts why only one kind of tree might be showing signs while others are not?
I hope to learn something new!
