I am aware that some people are getting an error. It is related to the number of people trying to access the file at once. Aweber limits the number of request to 60 per minute. We are trying to optimize the code to minimize the number of requests per user. However, if you just try a tiny bit later, it should work fine.

Thanks guys!

hey Paul My Dear Most Handsome in suspenders friend,

A-very big HIGH FIVE thank-you Kindly for the chicken Guide!

we just bought a 4 acre homestead that is literally crawling
with crickets by the 5 hundreds and grasshoppers so big
you need to carry a shotgun -lol

So, before i have even got (permanently) there i am thinkin i need
some free range chickens to eat all the slugs and bugs

barns and fences already being established there for over 100 years.

i am so thrilled i can barely sleep (like on christmas eve)
i sat on the front steps @ 2 am seeing all the stars
and i could hear loons
at the lake 2 miles away

Thank you so much for the freebies! As I am a bit technologically challenged, I think I just started a new topic with my first attempt to thank you, but I'll try again here,

You ROCK! I think that sharing information freely is a great step towards World Domination, and will gladly share this and all the other stuff you so diligently and thoughtfully put out there for us!

Have a beautiful day!

A wonderful and informative little primer on chix. Much appreciated (even though my own interest is in Muscovies). Thanks, Cassie! : )

Thanks for the freebie! It downloaded fine the first try. I am glad that I am a young guy instead of an old lady though, because according to page 8, "That up and coming batch will also be approximately half roosters, so not only do you have the roosters for meat, you have what we call a “stewing
hen, which is all you “old retired ladies”." You may want to point that typo out to Justin Rhodes, before some idiot decides to take offense!

so an open thread...just thought i would mention how suprised i am at the fact that no one at permies.com has even mentioned the international permaculture confrence which took place in London this week, with a convergence in Giswell park east London for the next week attached. Over 70 countries sent representitives, Mr. Poritt and Mr. Lawson just two of the keynote speakers, the representitives from India who will be hosting the next confrence. Such a great event. Find it very difficult to understand why you folk did not contribute or have a representation at the event.

Hi Joseph,

Funny you say that because we have two threads about the conference here and the convergence here.

Also: I sent out an announcement about it on Jun. 29 to our 28k mailing list subscribers.

Also: One of our staff members, Lorenzo, is attending the conference and is going to do a write-up about the whole thing when he gets home.

Hmm, I think that counts as a "mention" and possibly even a "contribution" in my book

Haha - I think you must have a bit of catching up to do on the theads, Joseph!

Here's another one, about the offer of ebooks to celebrate the conference - https://permies.com/t/49665/blatant-advertising/Permanent-Publications-Ebooks-ebooks-September

I know Lorenzo is really enjoying himself there and is thrilled to be representing permies.com at the conference and I'm greatly looking forward to his write up.

But really, this is a public discussion forum - if you want to see a thread about something, write it!

Be the change you want to see, and all that.

ok.... my mistake. Was just suprised not to see the Permies .com logo on show with the others. I came across Lorenzo, though I did not know at the time he was affiliated . Glad to know. It is/was a really good event, loads of like minded folks all with agendas of the most positive kind. Thanks for filling me in. and pleased to know the connection is there

Hi Joseph just landed a few hours ago from the plane and I'm here. Left London at 4 in the morning, sort of dizzy now, but here I am. I'd say it would be really nice to see different contributions here about the conference, different views. Wow you were their, so hepl us see through your eyes too, it would be great. I am a strange guy and see things in very strange ways, don't know if eveyone will be satisfied about my piece on the event. Can't wait to share it with you all, nonetheless.
I'm sorry I don't recall speaking with you, actually it would be difficult to recall everyone, but I usually have a good memory, or it could be here you use a real sounding name and maybe I met you with your real one, and thats ok too. Hope you catch up on the threads that have been shared on the two events.
I share always stuff on events when I get to know of them, and not just because I'm on staff really, but because its important, this one is from last year: first permaculture festival
and this one from this year: second permaculture festival

remember what Siobhan shared with us yesterday in the poem: we are one, we are one, we are one!
Its not about you and permies, we are one!

Hey Joseph it would be super super if you could share something on the convergence, I couldn't stay up for that event too, and I think that, maybe, there we'll have many more permies popping in so if you catch up with others let them know: share, share and share your experiences!
