Please join us in welcoming Robert Pavlis to the permies forums!

He's got a great book to share with us this week.

Building Natural Ponds: Create a Clean, Algae-free Pond without Pumps, Filters, or Chemicals

Read on to find out how to win a copy!

Read a review here.

Robert will be hanging out in the forums until Friday, May 12, answering questions and sharing his experiences with you all.

At the end of the week, we'll make a draw for 3 lucky winners to win a copy of his book! From now until Friday, all new posts started in the ponds forum are eligible to win.

To win, you must use a name that follows our naming policy and you must have your email set up to receive  the Daily-ish email.

The winner will be notified by email and must respond within 48 hours. Only the winners who respond within that timeframe will receive their book. Watch for a PM, and a notice in this thread announcing the winners! Also, winners outside of North America will receive a digital copy, rather than a physical copy.

Please do not put Robert's name in the title of your thread. We like these threads to be accessible to everyone, and some people may not post their experiences if the thread is directed to Robert alone.

Posts in this thread won't count as an entry to win the book, but please say "Hi!" to Robert and make him feel welcome!

Welcome and thanks Robert. Is there a link for the book that provides affiliate $ for the forum?

Wayne, the Read a Review link will take you to the page where you can order, and has the affiliate links there.

Hi Robert, Thanks for helping us out here.  Your book looks very interesting, and makes me want a pond.  What I have now is a hollow in the ground I can fill from the canal of irrigation water.  It has a plug I can use to drain it because the first year I had it,the ground adjacent to the pond got kind of boggy and water plants started to grow.  The drain/plug system works great but it isn't really a pond.

I just requested my local library purchase a copy.  This is not a cop out.  This way first the library buys a copy and I read it, then buy my own copy and other people read your book and some of them will likely want their own copy too, if they are about to build a pond...

I always request the library get a copy of this kind of book,  I figure it helps spread the ideas farther.  And I always post on here that I did that, in hopes I'll inspire others to get good books like this one into the libraries of the nation and world.
