I just now set the affiliate fee to 80% for "building a cob style rocket mass heater"

https://permies.com/wiki/60211/Building-Cob-Style-Rocket-Mass

This is the standalone DVD - which I think is a really, really good DVD.  Although I may be a bit biased.  I would think folks with a youtube channel or blog could do a review of the dvd.  Or come up with a bunch of different topics around rocket mass heaters or wood heat and point to it.

For people that are exploring getting started with affiliate programs this could be a good gateway.

Here is the info about setting up an affiliate account here:

Thanks for doing this! I don't have a blog yet but I hope to by summer and I plan on setting up some affiliate links to the digital market on the appropriate posts.

Set up your affiliate account, get your affiliate link for this video and then try posting it out to facebook or a local mailing list or whatever and see what happens.

Already got the account setup on here so good to go on that note. I just bought the domain for my blog and I will be taking an online course (free) from a site called problogger about setting up a blog as a business. Been listening to their podcast for a while and it seems good.

I'm trying to "do it right" and setup the blog from the start as a business instead of just a share what I'm doing and hope for money type of thing. Affiliate links are going to be a big part of it at the start - later I hope to switch to focusing on my own products. I appreciate the suggestion and I know I will be relying on this site a lot to help get the blog going.

I exchanged emails with a person the appears to have a lot more experience with affiliate stuff than I have.  That person made it clear that a 50% affiliate fee is the norm with big time affiliate people.  So I changed all of my other rocket mass heater stuff from 40% to 50%.  The HD streaming version of "cob style" is still set to 80%.

So if you sell the 8-DVD as physical dvds for $110, then you get $55.

I'll try to get my other stuff changed also.

In a different thread, Paul Wheaton wrote:
first, you might want to check out this thread where i announce an 80% affiliate fee for "building a cob style rocket mass heater"

https://permies.com/t/74255/affiliate-fee-building-cob-style

Since this old thread is loaded with scubbly references, and scubbly is no more, then i think the thing to do is lock this thread and have all questions answered at the new thread.

Okay, but I do not see an answer to my question in this thread either. The question was: now that I already have an affiliate page, how do I find it again?

To find your affiliate page, go to the top of permies.com and go to the button that says MyStuff. Click this, and go to DM Threads- I am an Affiliate.

I was about to suggest a much longer path - but this short path is good!

There is a link at the bottom of every page that says "affiliate program" - i am looking into getting that to go directly to your affiliate stuff if you are logged in and signed up for the affiliate junk.

I wish to win the lottery. I wish for a lovely piece of pie. And I wish for a tiny ad:
