This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Nest.

In this Badge Bit, you will put sand on ice.

(Sand)

Some articles and videos on using Sand on Ice:

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are you must put sand on ice:
  • At least 60 feet long
  • Make sure there is sand to the mailbox and delivery shed

  • To document this BB, post pictures or a 2-minute video depicting the following:
  • Before: An icy walk or drive
  • Action 1: Your sand container
  • Action 2: You applying sand to the ice
  • After: A sanded icy walk or drive, now with Traction!

Possibly, but I think the idea is to use local materials that won't affect the biology of your driveway area.

If you do the sand a path and driveway BB from Homesteading, have you also automatically accomplished this one?

And if the answer is yes, do I have to submit all the pictures again, or could I just submit a link to my passed BB over there?

Or maybe it's an oversight and this one should be removed as it's less rigorous?
