How much would tickets be for the event?  Ideally I would love to attend for all 9 days.  Budgets often determine these things for me.

I don't know yet.  

Before setting prices, I kinda need to decide if we are going to do the event at all.  So this thread is about guaging interest.

I seem to be selling tickets to our summer 2021 event.  So things seem to be moving forward in this space.

And some people have indicated above that they will come.  

I guess this is the moment to decide.   Maybe we can get 50 people to come who have already had the virus.  

This would be perfect timing for my honeymoon! Hubby wouldn't have to plan anything!

Super interested! But would be coming from Eugene, Oregon. It would be nice if there was a a half ticket option? 4-5 days perhaps? And maybe some option for child care? Either way, would love to attend with my family!

This is Sky Huddleston of Liberator Rocket Heaters.

My father and I would be more than happy to purchase two tickets for the full 9 days. With your graces Paul, we would like to make a special debut there for our new EPA approved rocket heater (the first EPA approved and tested to UL standards rocket heater ever) and would love to get feedback for our future third design from you and all the experienced rocket mass heater builders. We will also leave some new EPA approved heaters there for Paul, the Wisners, Donkey, and etc. to test themselves and try to push to failure to get more feedback for further design improvement. We're very close to normalizing the rocket mass heater for the general permies, and all the hard work the permaculture community has put into the technology will hit the mainstream.

To anyone that's on the fence about attending the jamboree, DO IT! In addition to all the excellent information offered by the highly experienced rocket mass heater builders, (assuming we get the graces of Paul and the Jamboree team) we are going to be there as well, and we want everyone's feedback and input. Additionally, if any attendee decides to purchase a new EPA approved rocket heater from us at the event, they will receive $400 off the retail price, which is our wholesale price. We want the Jamboree to be as big and great as possible and we want to contribute, share, and learn, and we really look forward to meeting and seeing everyone there.

Do we have an idea of cost?

We are open to trades, we've even accepted everything from metal coins, trucks, rifles, machines, cryptocurrency, and heads of cattle, so anything works for us so long as its a fair trade.

The usual MSRP for a Rocket Heater with all the accessory's (pellet hopper adapter, outside air intake adapter, and rocket heater) is $1800. However, at the Jamboree we will be more than happy to sell the next generation RMH-2.0 EPA certified rocket heater with the pellet hopper for $1400. The outside air intake adapter is integrated into the design and is no longer a separate component in the new model heaters. The next generation pellet hopper has a lower profile to make loading the heater much easier. This new model heater will also be certified by code to be integrated into thermal mass as an accepted venting method and will boast an insulative ceramic liner on the combustion chamber and riser tube, meaning its a true shippable core that's independently tested, certified, and listed as meeting and complying with the standards outline in UL-1482 and ULC-S627 and EPA certified. This means this heater will be legal to install anywhere in the country and will comply with building codes and insurance policy's.

The location will be at the 2021 RMH Jamboree.

How about making an anvil out of a piece of railroad rail? How about making a wooden stand for an anvil?

I'm really liking the idea of adding in a SKIP track--I think this would be a great idea for those new to rocket technology, and even building in general. I think it'd be really neat for someone to come to the event and walk away with the Rocket sand badge as well as half of the Straw badge (i.e. build a j-tube style rocket mass heater).

For those that already know the basics, or want to be part of epic innovations for rocket technology, or learn how to make a more advanced project, they could hop on over to one of the other innovator tracks.

That's a good question, Carmen, because I did neglect to put that info in there!

The event will be at Wheaton Labs (Paul Wheaton's property) and it's a little less than an hour from Missoula, Montana.

That's pretty far from me but please keep the info coming, including price and possible accomodations. My sis and her family live in Idaho, a bit closer than western WA.

I'll be interested in ticket price.

Where do we purchase tickets? Does the price include lodging and food essentials?

How about a group discount if 3 or more members of a collective attend?

Like all Wheaton Lab events, camping (RV, tent, or vehicle) is free! Stuctures can also be rented at the rental prices listed here.

Since this event is still in the planning stages, we don't have prices ready yet. I don't think Paul has ever had group discounts, so I don't think there would be a group discount for this event, either.

Apparently I missed this thread but the Permies daily email set me back on track! I’m personally a fan of the rocket oven in Allentown Abbey, a RMH in the to-be built solarium, and RMH in a tiny house build.

Perhaps if there’s at least one of each of the following, that could give potential participants something to focus on:

1. Standard J tube RMH with cob fill over ducts -repair/tweak existing?
2. J tube with a bell - tiny house viable with lower weight? Have any leftover old red bricks for making the bell?
3. Batch box design -would solarium build be good for this, where a larger load to light and forget would work?
4. Rocket oven integration into tight spaces or existing system like the Abbey. As I’m aiming for this kind of setup soon, this is my preferred track.
5. Skidable/portable systems - a portable core like the water heater risers we worked on last year, maybe making a perlite and clay slip mix core with a 5 minute riser, and making a permanent outdoor brick support. The support would hold your canner, big pot, or grill for outdoor cooking and canning. The front is open so that the portable core and riser slip into place for use, and when you’re done or bad weather requires you can easily pull it out and store. While a full skid structure is an option, I think something you can put on a small cart or in a wheelbarrow is more available to the most people. But a skidable outdoor grilling/canning station is an option too.

I think a rocket furnace for recycling glass and tin cans would be a great idea. Another idea would be a rocket distiller for water purification or alcohol dehydration. The evaporation and condensation in the distillation process could even produce mechanical work like in a steam engine. I imagine an engine similar to a Stirling engine with a hot and cold cylinder, the hot cylinder would be connected to the boiler containing grey water or wine and the cold cylinder would connect to the condenser containing distilled water or spirits. However, I am not sure what functionality an engine would serve at Wheaton Labs. (Edit: Maybe the engine could power blowers on the furnace and a fan to cool the condenser.)

Also, can we trade boot time to attend this event? Since leaving the bootcamp, and for the sake of building such a machine, I have started learning how to weld and use machine tools. I can't wait to be back at the Lab.

How about a build of a batch box with the new "off the shelf" components available from Dragontech?
