This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Nest.

In this Badge Bit, you will set up a hygenic off-grid manual dishwashing station for parties or an event.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
   - (this BB also counts towards the Community Badge)
   - requires clean storage of dishes
   - ability for people to wash their own dishes
   - requires more sterility than washing dishes for yourself
       - to prevent the spread of illness between dozens of people
       - does not need to be absolutely sterile
   - provide a compost bucket
   - has hot water at the bins or sinks to keep the bins/sinks from getting gross
   - at least four bins or sinks
       - pre-wash
       - hot soapy water wash
       - hot rinse
       - warm sterilizing rinse (with grapefruit seed extract or similar natural disinfectant)
   - drying racks plus lots of fresh, dry, dish towels

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must provide proof of the following with pictures (or a video < 2 mins long):
   - before, during, and after of setting up a hygenic off-grid manual dishwashing station for parties or an event
   - demonstrate it meets the above stated requirements

I led a workshop at my friends' farm. My friend has water access from a ditch but otherwise no indoor plumbing so I wanted to setup a hygienic off-grid manual dishwashing station. My friend and I have heard of stories of events gone wrong if the facilities aren't hygienic. So my friend coordinated for a port-o-pot and sourced well water from a neighbors well.  I set up the dishwashing station. This BB was fairly involved and cost me ~$100 to source the wash bins, towels, Oasis biocompatible soap, and a bottle of GSE. I constructed the roundwood towel rack using a knife and screws. My friend already had the table and dish drying rack. Unfortunately the system didn't work as well as I had hoped. I found that there were a lot of people who preferred to leave their dish in the pre-wash bin or next to it once there was no more space in the pre-wash bin. I paid my kids to fix the system and clear the pre-wash bin.

In this Badge Bit, you will set up a hygenic off-grid manual dishwashing station for parties or an event.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
   - (this BB also counts towards the Community Badge) -- Is this the Community BB that it applies to: https://permies.com/wiki/124914/pep-bb-community-straw-set-workshop
   - requires clean storage of dishes - I used a dish rack and a wooden box to store the clean dishes.
   - ability for people to wash their own dishes - everything was there but once there was too large of a pile up on the pre-wash the system failed.
   - requires more sterility than washing dishes for yourself - I used 25-30drops of GSE in the last wash bin
       - to prevent the spread of illness between dozens of people
       - does not need to be absolutely sterile
   - provide a compost bucket - I used a 5 gallon bucket
   - has hot water at the bins or sinks to keep the bins/sinks from getting gross - this was definitely a challenge to heat so much water, a rocket water heater would have made this more awesome
   - at least four bins or sinks
       - pre-wash - I filled successive pre-wash bins with the hot rinse and sterilizing rinse water from the prior cycle to reuse water
       - hot soapy water wash
       - hot rinse
       - warm sterilizing rinse (with grapefruit seed extract or similar natural disinfectant)
   - drying racks plus lots of fresh, dry, dish towels
