This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP Curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in Natural Medicine.

Here's a video that has a few ideas which may or may not be applicable to your friend's issue:

Minimum requirements:
  - Help your friend with their Bruise problem
  - Refer to them by a number or pseudonym that you will continue to use for that friend throughout the Natural Medicine badge

To document completion of the BB, provide the following:

  - Describe the issue your friend is struggling with
      - Symptoms
      - Duration
      - Severity
      - Medical diagnosis (if any)
 - Your suggestions for relief (including, but not limited to)
     - Behavioral
     - Food as medicine
     - Concoctions
 - Description of success (including, but not limited to)
     - What your friend actually did

Here is my submission for the Natural Medicine Aspect - Straw - Quinn List - Help with a Bruise BB.

T22 (pseudonym) got a bruise that she asked me to help with.  The bruise was a result of surgery on the torso under the arm.  It was significant (grapefruit-sized) but not very painful unless the arm compressed it.

My suggestions for relief
     - Behavioral: simple stretches to keep lymph flowing to help heal/recover from surgery and the bruise
     - Food as medicine: red meat
     - Concoctions: arnica salve I made at the PTJ last summer and arnica montana homeopathic remedy

Description of success
     - What your friend actually did: took arnica montana pellets and covered the bruise with salve 2-5 times per day
     - How well it worked and results: the bruise became less tender quickly and healed within a few days

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following photos to supplement the above information:
 - Picture of you with friend on the first meeting
 - Picture of you with friend (giving a thumbs up) on your last meeting

Dee took a tumble on the ice and got a bit bruised up.
I advised ice packs for 15 min on and 45 off. Pineapple to aid in healing and poultice tincture applied 3x a day.
The poultice tincture has a lot of comfry, calendula, flax, marshmallow root, plantain leaves, lobelia, yarrow and smidge of cayenne pepper.

She only iced 1x (she's the type that's always cold) Dee throughly enjoyed her pineapple and put poultice on 1- 2 times a day.

The bruises healed pretty quickly, almost completely gone in 5 days.
