Here is the day I rescued my best friend, Gordie. Or the day he rescued me.  I cant tell for sure.

He is a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog mixed with Pit bull. Wonderful farm dog and great friend.

Stagolee, black male.  Named after a famous old black cowboy.  Tons of famous blues songs written about him.

Lizzie Bee, white female.  Named after Lizzie Borden.  Popular children's nursery rhyme about her.

Got them at 6 weeks old, brother and sister.  Told they were half ACD, and half Hangin' Tree Cowdog which is an obscure cowdog breed that is listed as,

3/8 Border Collie for their intense herding instinct and intelligence.
1/8 Catahoula for the ability to trail and find cattle, and for their toughness and slick hair coat.
1/4 Kelpie for endurance, herding instinct, and short hair.
And 1/4 Australian Shepherd

They're basically cowdog mutts.  Best dogs ever!

my current kids- Kara, my 5 year old 50% elkhound 25% border collie 25% cattle dog with our new man of the house- a 100% Norwegian elkhound I went to get only to find he was actually a dog needing rescue so here we are- a loving, fantastic, spunky, brilliant, occasionally devious, currently massively pregnant momma and her 2 year old younger man / puppy-daddy Loki.
