Hey there everyone,
I am new to the format of permies so I am still getting the hang of things, but should catch on soon! My brother and I just arrived at Wheaton Labs yesterday from New York. We spent yesterday helping Jocelyn in the kitchen and setting up our camp. It is an exciting time to have arrived, as the PDC is going on and there are many like-minded individuals here.
Today was our first day of learning and we worked with Fred and Jaqi on dismantling a table and further water-proofing the Wofati roof. Some themes of the day included learning from the little things and finding solutions for anything that may arise. We are so excited to be here and to be part of an amazing community. We look forward to sharing our experiences, day-to-day tasks/accomplishments, pictures and more with everyone! Below are some pictures of the view in the morning, us working with tools and us doing some other fun stuff!

Day 3 at Wheaton Labs. Today we worked on the facade on the front of the Wofati and began working on the back one as well. It was also Taco Tuesday which was awesome. We’re a bit tired but nonetheless, motivated and excited for tomorrow. I attached some photos below!

Day 4 at Wheaton Labs and I swear the time is flying by. Today we worked on helping Fred with his earthenberm fence to keep the deer away from his plants. This included gathering fallen brush and transporting it. I also got the chance to use the excavator, also known as Rex. Let me tell you, its not as easy as it looks! Zach took a video of me during this(which I was unaware of) and it’s pretty funny. We are hoping to get our Youtube channel up and running sometime this weekend and the video will be posted there. I’ll be posting the link as soon as its ready. Zach and I also got small scrapes from moving the brush today but we were able to clean them with some Yarrow which was a first. Another highlight of the day was seeing a rainbow right after dinner! Overall, today was such a fun day. I attached some photos below!

Day 5 is coming to an end:( ..We started the day today with helping Jocelyn in the kitchen as we waited for the worst of the storm to pass. We then planted many seeds; I planted some rhubarb, squash and flowers. I had a buddy for this task(Wharf) who kept me company. Later in the day we were able to work on the back of the Wofati and finished quite a lot! I’m very tired and will definitely be heading to bed shortly after posting this. Check out the fun photos below and a big thanks to anyone who has been reading my posts, giving feedback and posting comments:)

Nice! It’s cool to see what the boots are doing while we are busy with the PDC!

Don't mess with me you fool! I'm cooking with gas! Here, read this tiny ad:
