A while back in the Get Paul a Silver Play Button Thread, someone said something about Youtube shorts, and Paul said something about not wanting to make the content (I am paraphrasing a lot here, please forgive me). (Also not sure if this is the best place for this, please let me know if it isn't, thanks in advance ).

So I found a new AI tool that makes shorts from longer videos. The low end membership is free, with limited uses each month, then you pay some amount if you need more. I tested it with Paul's Mullein Video and it spit out 12 different shorts, all were good enough for Youtube shorts with minor editing, and I had the option to make them suitable for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTock (which I personally refuse to use) as well. There is also an option to put links to socials embedded in the video.

1. I'd be happy to share the test ones I made with Paul/whomever-is-in-charge-of-such-things  so that you can use them in some way. I will obviously not post them myself without permission since I don't claim any rights to the source video.

2. If you want to make more or make your own the website is: Vidyo.ai

3. Interested in possibly being a person to either make them for you (from existing content) and staff can post or be in charge of posting them to one platform myself. (Also interested in running a Permies Twitter account that tweets about BBs for SKIP and PEP.)

Interesting suggestion. We'll have to put it to Paul.

I take it that the final video ends up vertical?

You have the option to choose different formats. I chose the vertical format on the one I tested, so that it would be suitable for shorts.

You can also get horizontal or a square.

I would like to see where this goes.
One of my editing programmes has this feature and it's absolute crap.  But I suspect with the recent advancements in technology and video editing, I could see this being totally awesome.

Like how we can use the AI in Davinci Resolve to generate a text field of the words said in a clip, then edit the text and it edits the video for us.  (alas, paid version.  If anyone has a spare $400USD laying around they don't need I would love the upgrade - 99% joking :)

I kind of want to see an example of what you're suggesting without me putting any effort into it at all because I'm hyperfocused on editing content this week - thus you see me posting gardening content more because procrastination with anything not video related is a big part of my process.

It totally captioned them, and the captions seem to be good, Not sure how it would do with accents or super technical terms from one video. It gives you a few hours a month free and after that it is a significant investment in my opinion, something like $30 month if I remember correctly. So it was about $400 a year.

It gave me the option to add in emojis in the captions and to edit anything that wasn't correct in the captions. It was super easy to figure out, very user friendly even for the non technical person.
