Hey PEP-Folks,
Spring cleaning my pictures, and found that I had documented a tire-chain installation during the last "big" snow of the year.
Reqs: - the materials you are starting with and the drive tires
- part way through putting chains on a set of drive tires
- the drive tires with the chains on
(I did have to go back and snap a photo of the chains in their bag today.) This was about 3in that hit all at once in late February, and the Ford Econoline with highway tires wanted chains in order to get out the (1/2mi) driveway to the plowed road. It is not a big snow by Great Lakes standards, to be sure, but in our dry steppe climate, it was plenty. The kids got to sled in the afternoon, too, so it was well worth it.
Happy homesteading!
