I love these and Kristie's pix. Have you ever seen Alaska The Last Frontier? It's like what you guys are doing, homesteading but with a permie focus. You guys should video your escapades as you build everything! Share it with the world!!!

Here are some pics from just after Thanksgiving of a thick hoar frost. This is not snow. (We have a nice blanket of that now, but I have a backlog of things to post.)
There were pockets of this thick, bushy frost, and then areas with normal (flat) frost.

Beautiful pics! I found the one that might be caused by fungal respiration really intriguing.
The others I thoroughly reveled in as I sit here, still slightly damp from being in the outdoor shower, where I enjoyed a tangelo while bathing. I got all of the beauty of the scene without actually freezing off any body parts I might want later on - WIN WIN!

More pictures, please! I'd really like to see the stainless steel barrel in the living room at base camp. I know that stove isn't functional yet, but still. . . .
Pictures are great. I have come to think of pigs with terms of endearment. The look cute. Sort of look like dogs with all that fur. You and Jocelyn look so happy!!!
