Photography forum (what would we need to make one here on permies?)

I want a photography forum here on permies.  I think it would be great in the 'art' category.

BUT... we don't have enough content yet to build the forum.  I'm hoping we can get to 75 threads before building the forum so that it can gain instant googlelove.

So I'm slowly making threads (putting them in meaningless drivel which is a holding place for all things, or in art) until we have enough content.

This thread is a place to talk about the new forum, what we need to build it, and to document existing threads we can shuffle over to the new home later.


Questions:  
1. do we have a forum that already does this job?
2. do we have a forum that could accommodate this subject with just a little bit of tweaking?
3. do we have enough content to fill the new forum (not yet) and enough interest to keep it active?


What do we need to build the forum?
a. a name
b. a volunteer to do the work
c. a thread introducing the forum that we can link to at the top of the forum
d. some words to put at the top of the forum to describe it.
e. lots of already existing threads to put in the forum.

Am I missing anything?

I wonder if combining pics and vids into a forum would work.

I had ambitions of a youtube channel. The video editing was ruff, but seemed like it would get easier. Lots of youtubers here that could assist. It took me 2 hours to edit out a "ummm".  I abandoned my ambitions.

Maybe call it "Camera Work"? That way it's both pictures and video making chat?

If video works in the group ranson, i'll start some topics. Editing. What camera? How to control sound in the wind? Lots of topics i can think of. I don't want to spam it. If i get replies i will start another.

camera work is live!

It needs more love, but I got some of it populated.  

- needs better description
- needs a thread "about the forum Camera Work"
- needs a nice daily-ish write up.
- needs more video based threads - maybe someone could suggest a list here?
