The pictures of my grandmother's pumpkin and rhubarb pies are burned into my memory only. That's pumpkin pies and rhubarb pies not a mixture. She did make really good rhubarb and strawberry pies.

Grandma could roast any cut of meat and have it fall apart, when removed from the oven. Bones could be slipped out effortlessly and it was always spiced just right. Her kitchen smelled so good that everyone would gather and get in her way. Only those helping with the process were allowed within the work zone.

Grandma died 25 years ago, before fake meat had hardly touched the marketplace. She would not have been a convert.

My wife and I fried a turkey. Not pictured are mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, stuffing and gravy.

Here is the side dish I brought. It was a virtual dinner via Zoom.

Nick,  you have me  rolling !

Just us and the in-laws this year,  so we only did one roast and one turkey...
A twenty five pound bird for, at most six people!
It was the cheapest they had left and rang up at about 8 dollars...

I made the kids a breakfast pizza. I had half a rack of ribs and hubby ate burritos.
