Hi all cruising craigs list this morning and what did I find.
Multiple pallets of FB for sale!    .30 cents a brick by the pallet ($200) or $1.00  brick for less.
Good for continuous duty at 1742 F this will work in a rmh
If you can't afford ceramic fiber board & blanket then this is the thing to make your core and riser from!

EDIT)  I see ten months ago I posted this same add and they were .50 cents each then... price is falling!

EDIT AGAIN ! ) https://kalispell.craigslist.org/mat/d/bigfork-insulating-fire-brick/7029272839.html     here's the link...

Wow, that's 1/10th the price of regular hard firebrick up here in Canada.

Thomas,

We would like to get 5 pallets.  Any chance you can snag them for us?

Hmm, not sure if the Subaru will fit 5 pallets ...
It's a great deal. I hope some Permies can capitalize on it.

You can't get the insulating firebrick at Tractor Supply etc.; they are normally around $5 each from industry suppliers. Wish I was nearer... though I have scored discarded kilns which contain irregular insulated firebrick.
