It occurs to me a lot!
Mostly because so many threads are "recycled", when I see a topic with 200+ answers I know its been on site for years!
Its not that I'm uninterested in the previous years highlights and wisdom du-jour but I assume if its on the first page of the forum than someone has a recent point of view....in an effort to be germane to the discussion at hand I'd like to see the current focal point....and then if its something I think I can add to, or a topic that is fascinating, I go back and review the history.
But.....Some people write a Tome every time they sit to a keyboard, and wading through the history can consume an inordinate amount of time. the ability to skip to the final post and back up a page (if needed) to get the gist of the discussion would reduce (what to me is an Eternity!) of page load time, just to find it has been "bumped" for no reason other than (possibly) engendering discussion, and there are no current opinions / questions.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently patient fool!
I hate people who use big words just to make themselves look perspicacious.
