Hi from Atlanta everyone! I'm 26 and new to the world of permaculture, but this lifestyle seems to have had my name on it for a while, I just didn't know what it was called. I came through here via frugality and energy efficiency, and have learned a few things about rainwater harvesting, food preservation, energy efficiency, and home cleaning. I can't wait to start learning more about homesteading and building out a property, gardening, and BUILDING A ROCKET MASS HEATER!!

Hiyya, Rene!
Glad to know you. Jump right in!
I too was drawn to a permaculture paradigm through frugality and energy efficiency, but also through food sufficiency.

Hi Renee;  Big Welcome to Permies!      And a Big Welcome to the wonderful world of Rocket science!
Come on by the RMH forum and start checking it out!
In your travels try scoring  30-40 old  clay bricks.  Find a clay bog and fill a few buckets.
Bring it all home to practice build rocket stoves in the yard.
Then you can gain confidence, about building your own  really cool rocket mass heater!

Start a thread about playing in the backyard and we will help you get the right dimension's to build a screaming rocket stove you can cook on.
After that we will help you create a heated bench  outdoors, that  you can hang out on for when it starts cooling off in the evening.
Finally you will be ready to build inside your home and you will have the confidence to do so!

Ah yes, food sufficiency is a great one I'd love to jump into. Btw, where in Middle Georgia are you abouts? I was just in the Oconee National Forest for a bikepacking trip

Hi Renee!

I am happy to see another Atl-ien on permies! I live in the triangle but am here a lot (am currently) visiting family. I always think about moving back home, but the lifestyles I've been adopting seem more and more removed from what is feasible here - anyhow, I'd love to connect!
