A lot of those skills are getting lost by the younger generation, unfortunately.
I almost feel as though that is one of my main missions right now in life actually. To re-gain the life skills that have been lost in recent generations. Getting them back, and possibly making them better, through the unlimited idea sharing online.
I started off not even knowing how to grow anything in the garden. Something my grandparents used to fill up 14 acres with. I am definitely doing it different than they did. For start... I don't own a
tractor or tiller. But I expect to be producing much more per unit of garden space than what they did.
Better believe I have my children out there with me learning every day. Just a few days ago we went out to the pasture and spread 1 pound of purple coneflower seed by hand in various places we would like to see a patch form. Their little faces and imaginations were captured for that 15min walk.
Hopefully that newly acquired memory will seep deep down into their minds... and infect their hearts.
