I don't really pay attention to numbers and stats much by default, unless it serves some particular effort in some specific context.

So I was mega surprised when Paul "Lake Effect" Sofranko sent me this lil' message:

I saw that you had only 999 apples. So I gave you your 1,000th. You're welcome! 🙃

999 was bugging my OCD

Thanks, Paul!  Pie for you!!!  But you have to show up on this thread to get it.  ;)

Haha, awesome! I have given an apple or two when someone is approaching a milestone. It just seems "nice."

Speaking of attention to numbers and stats, I have this silly habit of calculating my "batting average" of apples to posts. I'm currently batting .259 -- is that enough to make the big league? Yep, very silly.

Douglas, nah it's not silly. I keep track of my likes to post ratio. I want to make sure my posts are helpful, I'm not far enough along the Wheaton scale to start using apples for that metric.

Congrats Beau!

Douglas, did that help?

I find the scavenger hunts here both amusing and irritating. My push to make sure that what I say is helpful means that my stats are mostly great but...

I'm working to improve heathcare in Africa. The method we're using is about as far from permie as possible. We're in an entirely uninsulated metal box with air conditioning and lights running permanently. We ship most of our equipment from the US and a lot of our consumables (most of our food except fresh veg) from the Netherlands. although the community aspect is great!

Right now, I can use my experience to help others and learning by lurking. But that doesn't help create new topics!

Ah, but you're planting seeds. And seeds turn into apple trees.

May I suggest that you start a new thread talking about your work? I think many people here would find it of great interest and value. I know I would.

Another fool right here,  >1 is my goal :)
I like to please and I see apples as tokens of delight, really fun to collect!

My profile tells me I've only given 28... wow so hard to please lol

1000 apples 🍎 sounds like the name of a spiked cider. Those apples would be kinda hard. Ooh maybe some spiced cider to fit the season? But not pumpkin please.

Congratulations! 🎊

Here's a shout-out to thomas rubino, reaching a milestone 2000 apples.

Currently batting .399, with plenty out of the park. Nicely done sir!!

I am like Beau as I don't pay much attention.

Beau said, "I don't really pay attention to numbers and stats much by default, unless it serves some particular effort in some specific context.

Though, I feel throwing 1000 apples is fun.

Everyone just keep making those great posts and topics.

It might be silly Doug but you aren't the only one. Currently batting a .5625 average I know they are virtual and without the internet they mean nothing, but they still push me to make helpful posts. I'm a sucker for apples.
