Hi, y’all I’m vannesa and am completely new to owning a sweet baby lamb, whom I am now having some concerns with, I’ve noticed that when she lays down her breathing sounds weird to me, but then again I know nothing about sheep. I’m hoping that I’m just being paranoid and that nothing is wrong, just want to be a good mama to her. I have a video of her but I don’t know how to post it.

Hi Vanessa,
This is more to bump this post for someone with sheep experience.

Is the lamb eating and drinking well? Is it running around normally? If yes to those, then I would not be too concerned at this point. However, it might not hurt to check in with a farm vet for their opinion.

Sounded like pneumonia to me, but as Matt says, it depends on other factors.

I was a commercial sheep farmer before selling out, but I could be wrong

She’s running around playful and full of energy eating great no other concerns or issues except when she lays down.

When I had sheep for many years, my bottle babies always sounded normal.  Only once did I have a lamb that made "sounds" when breathing.  I used a medicated calf replacer but increased the fat content for 10 days and it cleared up.   I'm not a vet.   Use your own judgement.

Vannesa gave me permission to upload the video on her behalf, so here it is:

I haven't seen/heard this kind of breathing pattern before. (Please pardon the misspelling in the video title.)
