Okay, I love compost, wood chips and mushrooms.

While I dislike burr clover and thistles, I have learned that embracing them and they seem to not be so bothersome.

What do you like and dislike?  Daphne, it is only fare that you share, too.

Like: cold weather, solving problems for people, chiles, fiber and ceramic arts, tamales, growing food, cooking, Lake Superior, maps, playing games, tick season, the first asparagus spear of the year, garlic, flowers, Prednisone

Dislike: hot weather, slimy stuff, sticky stuff, scratchy clothes, poorly designed software interfaces, loud noises, cruelty, wasting time playing games, mosquito season, deerfly season, too much salt, throwing out my back, ranch dressing

Likes) Most of all, my wife, my Rocket stoves, older Subarus, our doggo, our cats, my piggies, having four seasons, playing with clay bricks, and working in my shop.

Dislikes)   HUMIDITY!  I moved 2500 miles to get away from it! The cellphone (people think you should be available 24/7), Hot weather, new cars, drive-up Bible thumpers, stink bugs, telemarketers, and most social media! (except Permies!)

Likes: my husband, when things go as planned, being more efficient or productive, well-written stories, perennial food plants we like to eat, areas which stay clean or at least clean looking, being old and still active.

Dislikes: loud, obnoxious people who insist the world needs to hear about (whatever), when I can't get things to work no matter how long I work at it or how many resources I throw at (whatever), my first drafts (which suck), tenacious weeds, dirt in my home, being old and the sudden loss of energy or aches that come with it.

like: the smell of old cars (carburetors) and jet fuel, cooking, playing in mud/clay, fruit, animals, bugs, fiber, typing on a snappy keyboard, a well-turned phrase, the smell of tomato and bitter melon leaves

dislike: people who take their pesky dogs out in public without leashes, the notion that financial donations are an important part of religion, stinkbugs on my passionfruit and most of all, FORKS WITH BENT TINES (this list of things I don't like was harder than I expected it would be)

Hm. I tend to be pretty accepting of most things Life decides I need experience with.
Likes: My husband, chickens, critters in general, knowing how to cook good tasting and nutritious food, creating things from other things, happy people being happy, plants growing and doing what plants do, the whole of the world doing what it does so very well.

Dislikes: Politicians, government, taxes, the smell of burning plastics, excessive outdoor heat and humidity (though it's tolerable in season), having to reframe my thoughts so something that is annoying isn't a dislike (having to do dishes and laundry mean that you have clean clothes, clean dishes and plenty of food and clothes to wear)

I wonder why you started this thread, though. What are your likes and dislikes or are you asking for some kind of project?

I happen to like/dislike similar things in general to Christopher. Except I’ve never tried tamales, never been to Lake Superior, don’t do much playing of games, and my memories of prednisone mostly involve dogs acting strangely.

I’ll give a few though.

Likes:

Spring (I.e. tick season), Chocolate, Mushrooms, Deep black soil, June beetles, Milkweed, Warm fires, Roofs that don’t leak too much, Medicinal herbs, Spikenard, Hermit thrush and all the birds really, Nettles, Meadow rue, Strange hybridized squash from the land race, fresh cheeses, morels

Dislikes:

Petroleum and manure smells, Weeks and weeks of rain on end, Loud noises (especially road noise),, Muddy paths, Stepping on thistles, Degrading of ecosystems, Especially, when people cut down big trees

And even more especially, when they put old toilets on otherwise beautiful hilltops.

Oh I can’t stand weeks of rain! Or politics.
I forgot to mention I love toads. And dry, fallen maple branches for firewood.
