Only a few days left!!

Hey folks,

The Mycologos: The World's First Online and In-Person Mycology School Kickstarter campaign is in its final days! Our original funding goal has been reached, so now we're looking to reach some stretch goals. Your help in reaching these goals is greatly appreciated.

After studying and teaching mycology for over a decade, I know first hand how hard it can be to master the topic. This school is designed to help anyone gain a solid foundation in the many facets of mycology – from biology and ecology, to cultivation, medicine making, and mycoremediation. There is even a course designed for permaculturalists.

The school will start by offering online courses and will also start a demonstration mushroom farm in Portland where the schematics for the tools we build will be made available for free. At the end of 2018 we will also begin offering multi-year apprenticeships in the field (alongside short courses of course).

Please check out the campaign here and share it with your community.

Thank you!
Peter McCoy

Peter, I gave your thread a bit of thread boost a few days ago.   It seems this thread now has 1400 views, so it might be kicking in.

For some reason, the image you posted is showing up weird in our stuff.   Do you have some more images/videos to add to this thread?   Can you tell how much funding you have received from permies so far?

Keep the old ones!  That's a cool image!   Make a comment with a new image.

Error!  Tell me all the details!

Paul, I think it's because I deleted the first image then refreshed the edit page to upload the images above. It worked this time.

Not seeing any referrals from Permies on the dashboard, as far as I can tell.

Thanks much!

Awesome campaign Peter. Will you be covering your low-tech cultivation methods in the school?
Congrats on achieving your goal! Will you being creating any new reach goals?

I took a class with Peter recently and only have good things to say about him and his class. I learned a ton and it really gave me a solid foundation for my mycology projects.

Check out his school if you're interested in anything mycology related.

Great work Peter! I am so excited to watch you guys grow. I'm sharing your stuff around and look forward to learning more about your projects. Thanks for all your hard work contributing to a better future.

Do you have a web or Facebook page? Am I blind? I didn't find a link.

Hey all,
Yes, there will be beginner, intermediate, and advanced cultivation skills taught, including super low tech/cost and outdoor methods.

The facebook is here and the website is here.

Thanks so much for the support everyone! We plan to bring mycology to the world and help enhance fungal knowledge throughout permacutlure.

My Testimonial - I own Peter's book and attended one of his 3-day workshops when he came here to Idaho this past summer. I can't say enough good things about Peter's work. I don't have a lot of $ but I contributed everything I could to this kickstarter as I believe this school/program is what will bring mycology to the masses. Until recently, anyone wanting to grow mushrooms had significant barriers to entry - expensive lab equipment, difficult to master techniques, etc -  books on the subject were written mainly for the commercial cultivator. Peter "keeps it real" with his approach and shows how anyone can start growing mushrooms on their own, with very little startup $ or background in mycology. Go Peter !
