Music of the Moment

Camper Van Beethoven Pearl!  You tapped into part of the music of my engineering school days (a long, long time ago).  Was supposed to be going to bed, but now I'm listening to songs like this creature (which I'm not suggesting any of you listen to...but also not saying don't)  Thank you for the flashbacks.

We have cajun tamales around here. Some sort of cajun spiced ground meat rolled in corn meal. In paper wrappers. They taste ok I guess but they're not TexMex tamales. With south of the border spicy meat, actual masa, & real corn wrappers. I'm going to make a big batch soon & listen to some Texan-Tejano-Mexican music while doing it. Enjoy.

I would like to share little story if I could that has reinforced my belief that if everyone does a little bit it can make a difference in the world.
back in January and February  of this year when city streets were empty and people were all staying indoors I spent a bunch of time watching musicians on youtube. there are many that I like and enjoy. but for inspiration I think Joni Mitchell is fantastic and has given the world a wide range of great music including one of the first environmental songs, big yellow taxi.
anyway I saw a few videos from the Kennedy Center awards gala. I thought wow joni and all the music and art she has given the world is deserving of that honor.
so I wrote what I think was a quite compelling note to the Kennedy Center committee nominating her for the award, anyone can do this on the Kennedy Center web site.
then, as I would watch youtube videos with joni in them, in the comments section I wrote if you feel as I do about joni, nominate her for Kennedy Center award.
I dont know if what I did really had any effect but it was announced back in late July that Joni Mitchell will be honored at Kennedy center gala affair in December , this year 2021.
