Setup a Security Camera System - homesteading.straw.security PEP BB

Here is my submission for the Homesteading - Straw - Setup a Security Camera System BB.

I'm going to give you a little bit of detail about my system. I can add and subtract from it pretty easy.

I found this bad boy on sale in the warehouse for $100. ( I also used my Smile Link to help get some money to my Non Profit I run The Mavis Institute) So let's say I saved another $1 or so.

Since this is mostly to watch over my farmlab, I setup camera to see the important things, and to also be slightly entertaining.

This next step is just something I thought would be fun for me. but turned out to be a passive income.

I had an extra computer around, so I hooked it up to the Internet, add OBS, and started streaming to Dlive.tv and Twitch.tv ( These are both Streaming Sites, mostly place where you watch people play video games, or sit around in hot tubs and talk about the most least important things in the world. )

So, why did I add these to the streaming platforms. I wanted the Free Archive ability and I wanted to have an app that works anywhere that I can watch my farmlab when I'm away. I thought it would also be cool to share it with some of my friends, and family and the extra eyes would be cool.

*I guess you could also use youtube set to private to do that same.

Too Long : didn't read version.  I setup the camera, started streaming, and people started to donate me money. Like real $$$ in less then a year I recouped all the money I spent on the project plus a little bit more to enhance the project. This project has cost me $-500 dollars in the last 18 months. Yep, I made $500.

Moral of my story, people are nosy, they love animals, and kind.
