This badge bit (BB) is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the wood badge in textiles.

In this project, you will make a couch!

Minimum requirements:
 - all materials (frame and cushions) will be made from natural materials
 - will use a natural wood frame
 - zero glue, plywood, particle board, wafer board, etc. in the frame
 - for the frame, you can:
      - build your own
      - re-use an existing frame (if it meets our standards)
      - hire somebody to build the frame (to our standards)
      - purchase a frame (if it meets our standards)
 - upholstery and cushion stuffing will be from natural materials (wool, heavy cotton, leather, etc.)
 - describe how your couch won’t end up lumpy
 - cushions will be sewn, not glued.

To document completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pics or video (< 2min):
 - Describe your couch: size, style, choice of materials, and how you will make or obtain the frame.
 - Describe how you will avoid lumpy cushions.
 - Show and describe the frame.
      - If you make the frame, show us the process.
 - Show and describe the upholstery fabric and cushion stuffing.
 - Show and describe constructing the cushions.
 - Show your completed couch with no lumps in the cushions.

May the couch be a futon?  Is metal considered "natural material"?  If I can make the futon, can it have the ability to be raised and lowered from couch to bed?  Do I simply submit pictures of the frame for approval if "futon" is approved?  I have the least comfortable excuse for a futon and would like to use the sturdy frame and reattach the drawers that go underneath.  It is currently a cat scratching post up on it's side...lol.

I'm curious if a loveseat would count? I have an antique wooden loveseat that should get rebuilt this winter. Traditional springs and strapping with padding will be most of the sitting area so I'm not sure if that counts as "cushions"!
