I will support this kickstarter. I have the other set and my main difficulty is old eyes. I can barely read them. All the information on the cards ought to be printed in dark ink so the most important feature - the lovely information - can be read. Of course, I am sure younger eyes have an easier time, and younger people are more likely to be practicing permaculture than an old musician in a condo. However they are beautiful and I want a set and some to give away, purple or not. Readable I hope!!

That’s my thumbs up and the only advice I have to offer this beloved community I’ve never met except online.

Holly, thank you for your wonderful post.  I too find that from time to time I experience "some" difficulty being able to clearly read the text on the cards.

Peace

Andres says that the font we are using now is easier to read than the font on the first deck.  And bigger.

Of course, we won't really know how we did until the cards are printed and we are looking at them.

Here is a comparison, to the left the first deck and to the right the new one... At least it will be the same size but overall im trying for all the text to be bigger. Will give it another pass incrementing the size as much as possible before print :)

Andrés Bernal wrote:Paul and I have been working on the Purple Deck for more than two years. There is still more to do, but a lot is finished and we are ready to share. I think it is time to put it out into the world. What do you think of the Permaculture Playing Cards: Purple Deck?

If you’d like to get one, please give this post a thumbs up. If we see 200 people interested, we can make this Kickstarter-worthy.

Here is a sneak peek of the cards. Fair warning, it is very purple

I love the comparison between the original and the “now” deck. Much easier to read! I can’t wait to get more than one deck!
(I have to admit I first noticed the post because my DECK off the back of my house needs an overhaul as the deck planks are more than beginning to fall apart!! )

We used the water color style of the illustrations to create the video!

After a lot of visiting with andres today, we are gonna make a slight shift ....

these cards are now "Gardening Playing Cards" for gardeners and homsteaders  ...

also, for gardening, homesteading and permaculture

Gotta be honest, I don't think that will go over well.  There are so many things in them that are not garden-related, plus the name just doesn't have the same ring to it as Permaculture Playing Cards.  But I'm sure you have your reasons.   And if you advertise them to non-permies you might get a bit more interest. 🤷‍♀️

This is currently winning at 26, but I can only guess what this tool is ( some kind of scythe?) and Paul mentioned marketing to Gardeners. I do know the other tools and come from a gardening background like many other urbanites of my time. While I'm fondest of the last two, small handtools for close work. It seems I've owned a set all my life as I was introduced to growies by about age 4.
Everyone here casting votes is more advanced in knowledge than the average urbanite. Something to consider.

Just a few hours to go.

there will be no $1 level this time.  The first level is $25 for 2 decks of cards.

Then $100 for 12 decks of cards.

And that's it.

It is all cards.

A bit over six hours until we open the doors ...

We have a bunch of bits and bobs to still polish ...

When it is ready, this link should work:  https://permies.com/ks
