I found this video and I decided to do the same thing only with solo cups.       I had such good success that I am expanding the setup..

The results were I grew some of the best cabbage starter plants I have ever done, as well as a couple pepper plants.    I love set and forget it systems, this is one that intend to keep multiplying.

Mart, LOVE this!! Aanndd you can re-use the cups over again, I would assume. Collecting the plant containers can take a bit of time, but a quick buy of solos and storing them over off season is a win-win. Awesome!! Cabbage is one of my go to foods year round, I can't wait to have a place to start my own permaparadise! ---Tess

And....   you can easily take the plant out of the cup and put it into another cup to give away....

I have been thinking about improvements:

1) Switch to EPDM pond liner  to remove plastic.
2) replace cups with clay pots to also remove plastic

I am most thankful for people who share their ideas on youtube as open source ideas sure enriches the world and others can build on those ideas to even make them better.
