If we were to record the willow feeder ebook into an audiobook, would anybody be interested in buying that?  Kinda looking at $10 to $15.

It sounds like it could cost hundreds or thousands ... Or we could spend 80 hours to make it ourselves.

If we are gonna sell 50, then it could be worth it.  But if we are gonna sell 4, then it is definitely not worth it, and we should put our time into other projects.

I'm a heavy user of audio books and might be interested. However, I really just use the Audible app and it does all the work. What would be involved in getting your giant audio file onto my iPhone so I could listen to it? Or would it be streamed like your podcasts?

Kinda thinking that we would provide a giant audio file here on permies.  If andres wants to set it up at audible, that's a possibility.

I’m an audiobook addict. I’d buy it.

Usually when one purchases an audiobook the .pdfs for graphics are included through the purchased audiobook link.  In my opinion, people will need graphics/drawings to fully understand if they have not watched the video series on the Willow Feeders.

I’m wondering if there is a way to do the audio-book/graphics on a platform like instructables to get it a larger audience and wider distribution?

This may open the door for additional audiobook options?

Whatever you do, please, do not use AI to narrate.  Paul has a great voice.  Monotone AI voices and their horrible pronunciation error lose my attention and I tend to o longer choose those books to which to listen.

Agree with multiple sentiments already expressed.

I would part with $15 for an audiobook!
I listen far more than I read books.
I appreciated the BWB audiobook a lot
I was in my garden most of the time it was playing

Seconding, would prefer a human narrator, namely Paul, but also respect that it’s a non-trivial amount of work to narrate.
If Michael Hatak (BWB narrator) is available, he was enjoyable to hear and it might be nice to have consistency.

Thanks for considering this!

I've been getting more and more into audiobooks recently. I would listen to Permies content as long form content.

So far, I have been listening off of sites like Youtube but would listen to it off of Permies.

My guess is that this will be about five hours of recorded material. So it will probably take me something like 30 hours to record it, and andres might spend 20 hours editing it.  And then 10 to 20 hours on related bits and bobs to get it out there.

Suppose 60 hours total.

50 people at $15 each, is $750.  $12.50 an hour.

Or, we can try to finish the hugelkultur book instead.  Or see if we can make a movie out of the gamcod stuff.
