Soooo emails from permies keep bouncing but there is no reason for it. Permies is in my contact list and my inbox is not full. My email is correct on the settings. I do not understand why this is happening, I didn’t change anything.

There is an ongoing issue with yahoo emails getting bounced.

We are trying to figure things out, but yahoo has always been a problematic email.

Ah, ok. Do you know what I should do to make sure I don’t lose access to permies?

You could try adding another email to your account - that is not from yahoo. I gather gmail is generally fine. Then if necessary you can log in with the other email. Hopefully the hard work behind the scenes to get the email issues sorted will pay off soon.

I had to do this too. Yahoo mail received messages just fine for a long time until a couple weeks ago. I added a secondary email while I tried some stuff with Yahoo. None of the things I tried worked.

I ended up having to make the non Yahoo email my primary email.

At least gmail says bluntly that they will protect their customers from emails they deem as harmful to the user or corporate values.  I think it was in the terms of service or one of the fine prints.  They added the words about 2 years ago, but have done it for ever.

Every email provider does it.  Some more strongly (yahoo, hotmail, rogers...) than others (proton mail).  They say if they didn't, we would get thousands of spam and scam emails a day.

One day, I hope to find an email provider that can treat me like an adult and let me sort my own mails.  Maybe even let my library tell me when my books are ready to pick up or let my government ask me if I am still alive so I don't get accidentally declared dead, again.  That would be lovely.

In the past, I've had to reach out to my email provider and talk to a real human to let them know that permies is a trusted email and i wants them precious emals.

Devaka and Ron are working on it.  They found some stuff and are making changes.  They are also trying to go through the yahoo stuff to fix things.

But ....    yahoo email has been pretty bad for years.   I think that yahoo is probably blocking a lot of important emails.

I found it really difficult to tell the first few times an email provided did that to me.  How does one see what isn't there?

The first time, i had to pay nearly 2 months late fee to the library as the emails saying it was due soon, due today, over due, and account suspended until fines are paid... none of those emails arrived and I didn't know that my friend who returned my books for me had kept one to read and didn't send i back.  I wasn't expecting the emails, so I didn't know i didn't get them.  Took the library 18 months and I still think the thing that fixed their email was me complaining to a real human at the email provider that I want those emails.

Now i know to look for it, I usually have a backup emails on my accounts just in case.  Those login email passwords can be a killer.

It seems the issue with yahoo emails is now fixed.

Please report if you are still not getting emails.

I added you to my contacts in Yahoo!
I hate that eMail system. It is like going back to the early 8-'s!!!
I had been with Comcast and they transported their eMail to Yahoo recently.

I'm trying to port that mail back down to Thunderbird on my computer. That, I have been using for years and to me it seems to be the best system that I have tried. Hopefully I'll get that working again soon!

Update: I am now receiving emails again, so whatever the issue was it seems to be resolved.
