In my opinion, and this is just me reading between the lines, and not putting words in anyone's mouth: Paul is anti-composting. I don't mean that he's against the idea of taking kitchen waste and amending the garden. He's clearly in favor of that. I just don't think he likes the routine of putting organics into a box, balancing the carbons and nitrogens, stirring it around, waiting for the finished compost. I think he'd rather us just put the stuff in the
garden bed directly.
I've been composting for almost 30 years. I've heard lots of "ewwwws" and "do what, now?" and "that sounds hard." Then as times have changed, more like "oh cool" or "what kind of composter do you have?" And now I even overhear the occasional "what, you don't compost? Shame on you!"
Never in my life have heard someone throw shade on composting until I came here. I'm not sure what to do with that. So I'm just listening and learning.
