Andres and I were talking about getting this kickstarter up and running asap.  Like maybe in ten days or so.  But there is a big problem.  If we jumped on it right now, then andres has a ten day appointment right in the middle of when the kickstarter would be running.  He will be GONE!  And I am thinking I don't wanna do that.

Normally, a 30 day kickstarter is the norm.

Maybe the thing to do is a 40 day kickstarter, complete with a ten day break in the middle.

Anybody have any feedback on this idea?

How would this "break" work when it comes to Kickstarter? What exactly would happen during these days?

I am thinking that we would sorta let the kickstarter coast.  Just ignore it for ten days.

Another thought:  do it for the regular 30 days, and we just do our best without andres while he is away.  It will be a slow 10 days in the middle.

I'd love to plans and enough detail in the plans and or movie to be able to go ahead and build one and understand how to manage it once up and running.

With my last Kickstarter, I figured it would be slow in the middle and pretty much just left it alone at that time. I didn’t notice much of a difference between that and the cookbook one, where I did some stretch goals and other stuff to try and boost it in the middle.

I think I read somewhere that ~30 days was the optimum for timing. 40 days probably means there's a longer slow time in the middle unless you have some good ideas to try and boost it.

At the moment, I am leaning toward starting it before andres's trip and also keeping it to 30 days.

Paul and Liv have been cranking out the willow feeder ebook non-stop and it’s reading very nicely in my opinion :)

Here are two chapters out of 32:

sewage treatment plants and septic tanks

the can needs a tube and 4 inches of sawdust

You can comment and suggest as much as you want! All feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

Maybe you should have a chapter in there about what NOT to put in the feeder toilet.
Some medications contain heavy metals, some are antibiotics. Some medications or supplements come out undigested. Some people dump bottles of Mr. Yuck in the toilet as a disposal method.
The persistant nasties shouldn't be scattered around your trees or your yard.

It’s official! Our Kickstarter launches tomorrow, Friday, July 11th, at 2 PM Mountain Time!

I’m super excited (and a little nervous). I truly believe this is valuable for all permies and a step forward toward permaculture world domination! We’ve put in a ton of work, and I think the book, the movie, and the plans are looking really good.

Yes! I will support the project. I want to see videos on building the several models and improvements made over time, plans, and support documentation for approval of health districts. If composting toilets are allowed, how is this system the same and different. Any research data to support getting permitting.

Feeling massive anxiety about this.

Because of this streaming opportunity, we are required to set the goal to a minimum of $20,000.

Can we get enough people to support the kickstarter to hit that?  I feel like we have aced the topic, and the quality of the bits is excellent ... but are people gonna be cool with this topic?

As we are taking care of last minute chores before a kickstarter, I just have a feeling that I am forgetting a dozen things.  But mostly I am worried if we will even get to our goal.
