I have a running joke with my sibling where I give them a "pet" for Christmas, and I need help figuring out what to do this year. Since it's mostly a joke and they'll get rid of it or give it away if they can't use it, I need it to be fairly easy, inexpensive, and quick to make. I'm not a woodworker and haven't yet learned to knit or crochet.
In the past, I've given:
Pet rock
A booboo bunny made from a washcloth (when they were in
Sock puppet
Felt squirrel stuffed with catnip (for their cats)
Paper machet animal (a year that I had lots of time)
Any ideas for this year?

Thank you all! I knew I could count on creative Permies people! I'm going to write these down for the future and likely go with Anne's plate idea this year. They just finished a nutrition class that changed their views on food, so somehow a plate seem appropriate.
If anyone has other suggestions, please continue to share them! I run into this problem nearly every year, so this year I've started a list of ideas.
