Dropping a quick note to say how fabulous the new email format is.
It is very easy to read and not as much of a strain on older eyes.

The Dailyish is fantastic.

I really had not thought much about the new emails.

I know I opened them and saw the permies logo and click to go to the thread.

The style is clean looking and warm.

Thank you for mentioning this ...

It would be good to hear the thoughts of others ...

Ha ha, you will now, Deane!
You should be receiving an email telling you that someone responded to a thread you replied to.

Before, you received an email from permies and, when you opened it, found a semi-legible link to the new post.
However, just a few lines below was a link to stop following the thread... if I was not paying attention, I could hit the wrong link.

Now it is big and bold with a clear button to push to go to the new post.

Not a big deal, but more professional looking.

It took me a while to see it too as I have most of my emails turned of (curcle top right, edit profile, email preferences).  More to the point, I don't check my emails everyday as anyone important knows not to try to contact me via email.

I like it.

I liked the old text only one too.  But this one is very clean compared to most emails and I can use the link without having to load pictures.  Thanks for that.

Deane, it's possible that you're not seeing the new format because your email client is displaying plain text only. If there's an option to switch it to show HTML, you will see what we're ooh-ing and aah-ing over.

One of the beautiful things about internet standards (like all the ones that apply to email) is that they give users choices about how they want to work. So the new "pretty" emails are still perfectly readable, and look just about identical to the older ones if you aren't set up to render the eye candy. Either way the information gets across.

Hi. I noticed today that the e-mails had a new style. Nice ... but for me it wasn't needed, I like getting e-mails from Permies anyway!

I don't know if it has something to do with the new style, but in one of the e-mails I got today was a wrong link. The message was about a new post in my personal thread, but the link went to an article about lawn mowing (and I don't even have a lawn LOL). Luckily I know how to find my personal thread, so I was able to answer to that post. But I think you (who? Moderator? Paul?) need to know about that wrong link.

Thank you for the feedback, it sounds like we have some gremlins in cyberspace that need to be sorted. This will be brought to the attention of the powers that be.
