Is it the darkest day or the shortest day in 2025?

Is it the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere?

Will days be longer and nights shorter?

At 10:03 AM (EST) according to the Old Farmers Almanac and 15:03 UTC from other sources.

According to the Minnesota Weatherguide Calendar and Almanac that a friend gifts me every year, tomorrow is the shortest day. Sunrise 7:49AM Sunset 4:35PM.
Then sunrise gets later until it maxes out at 7:51AM on December 27th and stays there until January 7th. And sunset gets later by about a minute every 2 days then every day then off to the races!
